Salvia divinorum and a taste of arrogance!

Those of you who used to know me -
know that I used to use a lot of herbal cures rather than go to the doctor.
What I discovered empirically, was that the pharmaceutical was quicker, more reliable and in the long run cheaper...
(As I pay for repeated cat scans to see if the scar tissue in my lungs is from asthma or the other less fun to discuss alternatives).

So as I write this don't get me wrong... if you feel ill go to the dang doctor if you can afford it.

Now I still advise garlic and golden seal etc when appropriate but.... well you get the idea ... go to the doctor too!

I found out reading this morning that the state governments are outlawing this plant (sort of like they did other more common plants) because it can, when used in a certain way cause you to get stoned and hallucinate.

(Heck I know people who are delusional without anything can we outlaw them?)

This plant is SAGE! Now I understand why Native American’s used it so extensively in cleansing ceremonies...

They also are trying to outlaw lobelia which saved one of my kid's lives when I was so delusional I thought I could stave off the doctor's visit....

Check out the link below and the MDMA trials

I really hate alcohol and all of its related sicknesses and feel deep in my heart it is a worse drug than any.

I really wonder about the intelligence of a society that would outlaw sage because someone might realize they can trip out on it and advertises and encourages its members to drink a drug that causes such pain in all our lives.

I also took a moment today to visit Will's memorial. I noticed he had nice flowers in his little vase and knew someone else had been there recently too. I stuck my flowers in a vase that had none - a stranger who I never knew and I sat down and cried. I will never understand a higher power that can mix so much terror and unfairness with such beauty and peace. This world is so difficult at times to live in. Humans are so arrogant to even speak!

Thanks for your blog on Salvia Divinorum :) I wonder if you've read some of The Salvia divinorum Research and Information Center http://www.sagewisdom.org/ ? This sage and the sage Native (North) Americans used are a little different but often they are both in the same ceremony.

Be well and free,
blessed be,

Of course the Salvia of which we speak is different than the common cooking Sage or Sagebrush, or even White Sage, however There is no reason to outlaw it.

Now if they wanted to put an age restriction on it, I have no problem with that.

Good point about alcohol. In the UK, alcohol (and tobacco) death reach around 150,000 a year. I've yet to too any conclusive proof of some sage killing anyone.

Acute poisoning? Belligerence? Driving under the influence? Salvia facilitates NONE of these things.
